The College Conservative: Defending Conservative Ideas in Liberal College Culture

With the kick-off of the new year, political discourse seems to have carried over the heated trend from 2017. The conflict is not unique to Capitol Hill or the hysterical mainstream media. Everyday conversation among families and friends often teems with political discussion. As exemplified in the last election cycle, many of us have experienced conflict with a friend or relative over our deeply-held political beliefs.

The deepening political divide was and is concerning. Liberals and Conservatives have virtually abandoned constructive discourse altogether. Unfortunately, the hysteria and blatant fallacies propagated by the left toward Trump, and conservatism in general, have significantly affected some of the most vulnerable minds in our country – young, impressionable students.… Read More...

  • Texas School Brings Back the Wooden Paddle

Texas School Brings Back the Wooden Paddle

When I was a child, my elementary school allowed teachers to spank us if we did something wrong. My fourth grade teacher, Mr. James, had a pink colored paddle that he named, “The Pink Thing.” Let me tell you, you did not want to be introduced to The Pink Thing.

I got in trouble once with a couple of my friends and had to stand in front of the classroom with them as he gave us each a swift swat on the butt. I remember the sting of the spanking, but I more-so remember the embarrassment of being spanked in front of everyone.

Your Next iPhone may be Made in America…Thank Trump!

Hey! Apple user here! I have a MacBook, an iPhone, an iPad, and eventually I am sure I will break down and buy an iWatch. In other words, I like my devices to be compatible and I like Apple products!

So you can imagine how excited I am to announce that the next iPhone I own could be made in America! Whooooo! Thanks to President Donald Trump, there are great things on the horizon!

The US President has said in the past he wants Apple to build more products in the US. And now, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he’s claimed that Apple CEO Tim Cook called him and promised to build “three big plants” in the US.

  • After You See “Dunkirk” Watch This Film to See What Was Missing

After You See “Dunkirk” Watch This Film to See What Was Missing

My wife and I saw Dunkirk last night. I promised my son that I would not say if we liked it or didn’t like it. So you won’t find any spoilers here. Well, maybe one.

There was one thing the film left out. No, it wasn’t the fact there weren’t many women or minorities, as one numbskull protested. It was the response of the nation as a whole — the unseen masses whose fate was in the hands of the army, navy, and air force. Of course, not everything can be put in a film as grand and sweeping as Dunkirk, but this missing item was a biggie.

Heinz Invents New ‘Chicago Dog Sauce’ to Bypass ‘No Ketchup’ Rule

This is not only genius, but it is hilarious.

Heinz has created a new “Chicago Dog Sauce” to bypass the city’s “No Ketchup” rule. Now before you freak out about Chicago and their weird laws, you should know that they have not outlawed ketchup. It is more of a social rule.

Now here in the south, we eat ketchup on everything….especially hotdogs! However, as Daily Mail reports, you cannot do that in Chicago:

It is an unwritten rule in Chicago that you cannot put ketchup on a hot dog. Many eateries in the city actually have signs up banning the condiment.

  • OH College Kicks Off Orientation Program For ONLY Black, Latino, and Native American Students

OH College Kicks Off Orientation Program For ONLY Black, Latino, and Native American Students

Kent State University, nestled in Kent, Ohio is welcoming the class of 2021. Their website is very welcoming….well, if you’re of African American, Latin American, or Native American descent anyway.

The school has created a free, four day orientation with mentorship, and call it Kupita/Transiciones (K/T). This program sounds amazing, but is it right? I don’t really care if they have an orientation that excludes whites and asians and whoever else isn’t one of the three listed. However, it is the same people in that program that will be crying social injustice later down the road….when they are the ones getting special treatment.

  • Exposing the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as Hateful Hypocrites

Exposing the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as Hateful Hypocrites

Over the weekend, “MSNBC contributor and Newsweek senior editor Kurt Eichenwald accused Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Republican members of Congress of defending ‘right-wing terrorists’ during the Obama administration, as the Liberal journalist tried to implicate mainstream conservatives in recent reports of hate crimes.”

As is usual for such a claim, Eichenwald did not offer any examples and Joy Reid, Saturday’s AM Joy’s host, did not press him for any evidence.

In addition, “[o]n Sunday morning, NPR posted an article by reporter Wade Goodwyn using the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center on “The Far Right’s Language Explained.” The inspiration for this article was the murder of two men in Portland who tried to defend a woman in a hijab on a subway train by an extremist named Jeremy Christian.
