• Is American on the Brink of Disaster?

Is American on the Brink of Disaster?

We’ve become a country divided. Political Chaos. Racial Tensions. Global Terrorism. “Fake News.” What does the future hold for our country?

A country founded on spiritual principles, America has minimized the importance of God and Christian values. According to the Bible, a nation that denies and defies God will ultimately suffer His judgment. (Gen. 12:3)

In The End of America?: Bible Prophecy and a Country in Crisis from author and theologian Jeff Kinley, Jeff explores the rapid decline of America as a Christian nation, God’s prophetic plan for America, and the Christian’s responsibility to our great nation. READ MORE...

Cosmo Hurts Kids Campaign Fights To Protect Children

Victoria Hearst’s Cosmo Hurts Kids campaign fights to protect children from the mag’s harmful pornographic messages. Granddaughter of publishing titan William Randolph Hearst is making her own mark in the magazine world by taking on COSMOPOLITAN’s adult content.

Miss Victoria Hearst is making news by actively fighting against the magazine that was the flagship of her famous grandfather’s publishing empire. Miss Hearst insists that the messages displayed on the cover and in the pages of Cosmopolitan are damaging to children, and that the Cosmo of today bears NO resemblance to the wholesome family magazine her grandfather purchased in 1905. Victoria isn’t the only one who is concerned about Cosmo’s harmful effects. The American Psychological Association contends that sexualization has significant negative mental health consequences for underage girls. READ MORE...

    Government versus Christianity

We may argue from a theological position and, I agree, much of what is permissible in this country in sinful. It sickens me. But let’s look at these things from a Constitutional perspective. The country was founded on the principles of freedom & liberty which were put in place to accommodate a wide variety of religions and political viewpoints. There is an inherent double edge to the American political system that was established.

Thomas Jefferson is quoted as saying “The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.” READ MORE...

  • What Is Christmas?

What is Christmas? This article shows the surprising connection between Christmas and the creation of the world.

Note: This article is featured in this booklet, which shows the surprising connection between Christmas and the creation of the world.

In December, many Christians celebrate a holiday called Christmas.1 What is Christmas? During this season, there is particular emphasis on an event that occurred around 2,000 years ago in the town of Bethlehem in Judea (today called Israel).

Christmas commemorates the birth of a baby—an event recorded in the Bible in such New Testament passages as Luke 2:1–20 and prophesied about in Old Testament passages such as Isaiah 7:14. The name given to this baby was Jesus. READ MORE...

  • Do Varves, Tree-Rings, and Radiocarbon Measurements Prove an Old Earth?

The BioLogos Foundation has published a popular-level article by old-earth geologists Gregg Davidson and Ken Wolgemuth presenting arguments for an old earth. One such argument involves counts of sedimentary laminations (“varves”) within the floor of Japan’s Lake Suigetsu. Their article claims that the very large number of Lake Suigetsu varve counts is strong evidence for an old earth. Creation scientists would argue that most of the lamination couplets are not true annual events. In fact, a plausible explanation for the couplets was presented in the young-earth creationist literature one year prior to Davidson and Wolgemuth’s article. Davidson and Wolgemuth, however, present a new “spin” on the argument: they claim that the correlation between these “varve” counts and radiocarbon dates (as well as tree-ring counts), proves that the Lake Suigetsu varves are true annual events, thus presenting an unanswerable argument for an old earth. However, careful examination of the papers they cite shows that this apparent agreement is the result of the typical uniformitarian circular reasoning. Furthermore, Davidson and Wolgemuth made numerous errors in their article (even within their own uniformitarian framework) which cause one to question whether they carefully read all of the technical papers they cited. Furthermore, they seem to misunderstand the recent results of the RATE research project that showed strong evidence of ubiquitous in situ radiocarbon within fossil specimens that should be radiocarbon “dead” by uniformitarian reckoning. Such results pose a serious challenge to uniformitarian assumptions underlying conventional radiocarbon age-dating methods. READ MORE...

  • Christmas Timeline of the Biblical Account

When December hits, many familiar questions surrounding the birth of Christ come to mind. For example, some ask about making Christmas sermons relevant, the origin of Christmas and if it was pagan, the star of Bethlehem, the “inn” where Jesus was born, and many others. Of course, these are important topics, but it is also important to understand the timeline of events surrounding the birth of Jesus.

The Christmas timeline of the biblical account is called into question by many skeptics. They claim the nativity accounts of Matthew and Luke do not line up, and therefore the accounts should be discarded. Sometimes they go so far as to say that few are even aware of the issues with the Christmas timeline. READ MORE...
